THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE STIMULUS PROGRAM ENJOY DA NANG 2024 - AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER AWAITS TOURISTS

On March 29, 2024, the Department of Tourism of Danang City officially announced the launch of the stimulus Program to attract tourists to Danang with the theme of - “Enjoy Danang 2024” - to experience the unique tourism products of Danang.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Danang People's Committee, stated that the city has entrusted the Department of Tourism to lead and coordinate with other departments, sectors, district-level People's Committees, and especially the Tourism Association to implement the Program.

The aim is to contribute to the goal of welcoming 8.42 million tourists in 2024 and supporting effective exploitation of tourism resources by introducing attractive tourism packages, such as: events and festivals, night tourism, culinary tourism, wedding tourism, and MICE tourism.

According to the Department of Tourism, Danang City will offer a series of distinctive events and festivals in 2024, such as the Brazil-Vietnam Football Festival 2024, Danang International Fireworks Festival, Enjoy Danang Festival, Vinfast Iron Man 70.3 Vietnam, Danang International Marathon 2024, 13th Southeast Asian School Games, International Street Art Festival, Danang Beer Festival, BRG Open Golf Championship, Danang Asian Film Festival, and Danang New Year Festival, among others festivals.

In addition, tourists will have the opportunity to enhance their experiences and explore Danang with exciting nighttime tourism products, such as the Charming Show and Ao Dai Show performances or a river cruise on Han River at nighttime. Visitors can also have the opportunity to enjoy the Dragon Bridge's fire and water show, evening music entertainment programs at 5-star hotels, music venues, bars, clubs, as well as activities in tourist streets and night markets such as An Thuong Tourist Street, Son Tra Night Market, Helio Night Market, and My An Beach at night.

Alongside these unique tourism products, several new tourism products for 2024 will be introduced in different phases to meet tourists' demands, including water music performances, water puppet shows, water motorcycle and flyboard performances with sound, light, and fireworks effects (Danang River Show), the opening of the pedestrian street on Bach Dang Street, and trial nighttime services on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge as well as the park at the foot of Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

Furthermore, with the aim of enhancing the experience for tourists visiting Da Nang, the organizers have also announced the implement of a program offering over 10,000 service packages, free tickets, and discounted offers with a total value equivalent to 5 billion Vietnamese Dong for tourists. Moreover, the city is also giving away 2,000 tickets to watch the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival to tourists who register and purchase travel services and products through online platforms such as (Kkday and Traveloka), on the program's website (enjoydanang.vn), and on Da Nang's tourism social media pages.

Additionally, the program includes gifts for the first 100 couples who choose Da Nang to hold their wedding/anniversary ceremonies or honeymoon trips. There are also combo packages to enjoy Da Nang, including the Da Nang Enjoyment by Train package and the Da Nang Enjoyment - Iron Man 70.3 Vietnam Competition package, which are offered by travel companies in Da Nang.

At the program, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, stated that in the first three months of the year, the total number of flights to Da Nang has reached 9,550, with approximately 1.59 million passengers, including 4,798 domestic flights and 4,752 international flights.

Currently, the city receives over 100 domestic and international flights on average per day. It is expected that in the second quarter of the year, there will be five new international routes: Dai Trung (Taiwan - China), Cao Hung (Taiwan - China), Vieng Chan (Laos), Manila (Philippines), and Fukushima (Japan, charter flight).

According to the information at the program, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong said that: In 2023, Da Nang's tourism industry achieved impressive results and served as a pillar in the city's economic development. In the first quarter of 2024, the tourism activities have achieved positive figures, with the estimated number of visitors reaching over 1.88 million, an increase of 23.4% compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, international guests reached nearly 636 thousand, an increase of 21.6% compared to the same period in 2023, while domestic guests reached nearly 1.25 million, an increase of 24.3% compared to the same period in 2023. The revenue from accommodation, dining, and travel in the first quarter of 2024 is estimated to exceed 7.6 trillion Vietnamese Dong, an increase of 25.6% compared to the same period last year. This demonstrates the great efforts made by all departments, sectors, localities, and especially the community of tourism service businesses.

The construction of this year's program introduces many new and attractive features and offers a diverse range of choices for different market segments. Therefore, it is expected that the program - Enjoy Danang 2024 - will contribute greatly to the goal of welcoming 8.4 million visitors in 2024.
