HANOI CITY TOUR

08h00-08h30: The car will pick up tourists from the hotel in Old Quarter or from the Opera house to depart for the visit to the capital of Ha Noi. In the morning, the tour group will visit:

  • Tran Quoc pagoda - West Lake: The pagoda is located on an island East of the West Lake (Tay Ho district). The pagoda has nearly 1500 years of  history with a hundred-year-old Bodhi tree originating from India, and is considered the oldest pagoda in Thang Long -  Ha Noi. The pagoda architecture is a harmonious mixture of majesty and antiquity with an elegant landscape amidst the quiet background of a vast lake. This place was the Buddist center of Thang Long citadel during the Ly and Tran dynasty.
  • Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum relic complex (including the mausoleum and stilt house area) - where the great leader lived and worked from 1954 to the last years of his life. Here, tourists will have the opportunity to learn about Uncle Ho’s modest life. In addition, tourists will also have the chance to stop by the One Pillar pagoda to admire one of the four symbols of Ha Noi.

Note: On Mondays and Fridays, the mausoleum management board will carry out the maintenance of the Mausoleum, tourists can only visit the outer area of the Mausoleum, then will go visit the stilt house area, fish pond and One Pillar pagoda.

  • Museum of Ethnology, which houses and displays many cultural artifacts of all 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. This is not only the newest museum but also one of the largest and most interesting not only in Hanoi but also in all of Vietnam. There are indoor and outdoor sections, while the indoor exhibits provide more information, the displays and outdoor activities make the museum stand out from the rest. There are a few houses modeled after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities, especially those in North and Central Highlands.

Noon: The tour group will have lunch at a restaurant in the Old Quarter area and rest there. Tourists can take a few minutes after the meal to walk around to look at and learn about the names of  Hanoi’s 36 streets …

Afternoon: Tourists continue to visit:

  • Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, a place considered to be the first university in Vietnam. This is an ancient architecture, which was built on a fairly large scale from October 1073 and has existed till this day. The temple of literature was built to worship Confusious, the founder of Confucianism and Chu Van An - the principal of Quoc Tu Giam - represents the high moral philosophy of Vietnamese education.
  • Visit Hoa Lo prison, formerly a prison located in Hanoi, Vietnam, which was also called the Central prison or known sarcastically as Hanoi Hilton. It was built when Indochina was an indispensable part of the French Empire. It was partly destroyed in 1990, and is currently used as a museum.

16h00

At the end of the Hanoi city tour program, the car will take tourists back to the hotel or depending on the guest’s demands, the car can bring tourists back to the Shark’s Jaw area to let guests freely visit and experience (guests need to cover all the cost that incurred) one of the location mentioned below, then guests will return to their hotels on their own:

  • Freely walk around Sword Lake, also known as Lake of the Returned Sword, learn about Vietnamese and French architecture around the lake area. Visit Ngoc Son temple worshiping Saint Van Xuong and Tran Hung Dao - The famous general throughout Vietnamese and world history and The Huc Bridge
  • Rent a cyclo or an electric bike to ride around the Old Quarter and Sword Lake.
  • Buy tickets to watch a water puppet show.
