PHU QUOC - A TROPICAL PARADISE FOR TOURISTS

Phu Quoc Island is located off the coast of Vietnam and has become a famous top tourist destination with beautiful beaches, bustling markets, and a rich history. Phu Quoc is known as the "tropical paradise" with numerous interesting attractions for all visitors.

Phu Quoc is the largest island of Vietnam, belonging to Kien Giang province. The island has an area of 580km2 and features a system of hills, rich flora and fauna, and winding coastlines, creating a picturesque scene of a "green jewel in the vast ocean."

Phu Quoc is also known as the "Pearl Island", a picturesque island located in the Gulf of Thailand, off the southwestern coast of Vietnam. Phu Quoc has charmed millions of visitors with its pristine beaches, lush forests, and vibrant marine life.

1. Long Beach.

Bai Dai Phu Quoc is one of the most pristine beaches in Vietnam, located in the northwest of the island, stretching 15km from Cua Can to Ganh Dau Cape. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by Forbes magazine, renowned for its smooth white sand and clear blue waters.

This beach is known as the "place embracing the most beautiful seascape of Phu Quoc." When visiting, tourists can comfortably relax on the sandy shore, admire the mesmerizing seascape, and the nearby islands.

Moreover, visitors can participate in activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, flyboarding, snorkeling to observe coral reefs, cycling along the beach, and even overnight camping. Indulging in Phu Quoc's specialty dishes at restaurants near Long Beach, such as fresh seafood and fish cake soup.

2. Star Beach.

Star Beach is located in the southern part of Phu Quoc Island, at An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc, Kien Giang Province, Vietnam. Star Beach is about 25 km south of Duong Dong city center. Star Beach is situated in a sheltered position, with a mild and cool climate throughout the year. The sea is always a bright, with a shade of blue, providing visitors with a sense of peace and tranquility. This can be considered the most famous beach in Phu Quoc.

When visiting here, tourists will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the turquoise water, perfect for relaxing beach bathing or engaging in water sports such as paddleboarding, jet skiing, and kayaking. Especially, every night, thousands of starfish move up to the white sandy shore, creating a fascinating sight. This is also the reason why the locals call this place Star Beach.

3. Phu Quoc National Park.

Phu Quoc National Park is located in the northeast of Phu Quoc Island, approximately 13km from the center of Phu Quoc. The park covers a total area of 31,422 hectares, which is about half of the island. Phu Quoc National Park is one of the three core zones of this biosphere reserve, along with the Coastal Forests of Kien Luong-Kien Hai and U Minh Thuong National Park.

Phu Quoc National Park has a diverse ecosystem, encompassing rainforests, mountains, and wildlife. With its rich vegetation and pristine tropical forests, it is home to hundreds of species of wild animals, mammals, birds, including rare species on the brink of extinction. Additionally, the national park has 60km of coastline. Here, you can discover unique marine life and stunning coral reefs. You can also participate in recreational activities such as forest walking, visiting the sim flower gardens, bathing in waterfalls, and trekking through the forest.

4. Hon Mot Island:

Hon Mot Island has an area of 6.7 hectares and is located about 200 meters northeast of Phu Quoc Island. Hon Mot Island does not have pristine blue beaches and white sand, but it boasts lush forests and unique rocky shores along the coast, making it an ideal place for camping, barbecue parties, sunset gazing, and outdoor activities. Hon Mot Island is a tourist destination that preserves the untouched beauty of magnificent nature. The island is adorned with a gentle purple hue, exuding a delicate charm with sea morning glory flowers, red dirt roads, and swaying coconut groves in the wind.

Often compared to a fairytale land, this place has not seen extensive tourism development, making it an ideal destination for those who love the tranquility and want to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the crystal-clear water, admire the coral reefs, enjoy the moments of sunrise and sunset, and breathe in the refreshing and pleasant air.

5. Phu Quoc Night Market.

Phu Quoc Night Market is located right in the center of Dong Duong Ward and operates from 4 PM to 11 PM daily. This is a place for visitors to explore and shop for unique products of Phu Quoc, such as dried seafood, black pepper, sim wine, fish sauce, and more.

Here, tourists can find a wide variety of items ranging from fresh seafood, local specialties, souvenirs, clothes, shoes, and more at very affordable prices. Besides shopping, visitors can also indulge in Phu Quoc's local specialties like herring salad, grilled sea snails, stir-fried noodles, fish cake soup, Thot Not coconut cake, Thai-style rolled ice cream…. The market is also a popular destination for tourists to choose souvenirs and local products as gifts when they go back home.
